Each of us at least once in his life faced with such an unpleasant thing as a bruise. The result of such an injury is usually bruises that appear on the body after a while. Of course, we want to quickly get rid of not only unpleasant sensations and pain, but also from the unexpected “decoration”. We will tell you how to deal with bruises and bruises at home.
Why do bruises and bruises occur
A bruise is a closed mechanical damage to organs or tissues, in which their structure is not disturbed. It can be either small or larger. Bumps are common in children through increased physical activity, but adults are also not immune from the unpleasant consequences of a hit or fall. Bruising can be both an independent phenomenon, and accompany more serious injuries – dislocations, fractures, and others. The bruise appears as a result of the rupture of small vessels, which causes a small hemorrhage under the skin.
Blows are more noticeable in areas where the skin is thinner – for example, on the face. Usually, the injury is accompanied by acute pain, swelling, bruising, temporary numbness of the impact site, a slight increase in temperature and swelling.
When brain injuries occur, poor health is observed:
- ripples in the eyes,
- mild nausea.
To exclude the presence of other injuries and to assess the condition of the injured person as accurately as possible, you should consult a doctor and conduct additional examinations.
Treatment of bruises at home
By following a few simple but very important tips, you will be able to quickly cure an injury and avoid possible complications.
First of all, take care of your own peace of mind. Allow yourself to rest for at least a few hours.
Apply the cold. It can be an ice pack or a package of frozen vegetables – but you have to do it. The cold causes the blood vessels to narrow, which helps to dissolve the hematomas and reduce the pain.
Make a compress of raw potatoes. You can use small thin slices, but it is much more effective to make a gruel and attach it to the bruised area, leaving it for a few hours.
Another effective recipe is a porridge of fresh cabbage. RUB the vegetable sheets, attach to the injured area and secure with a bandage. Leave the compress on for a few hours.
A mixture of honey and aloe juice will also help relieve pain and stop the inflammatory process.
If you do not have the necessary drugs at hand, you can use a fairly simple but effective recipe. Take ordinary household soap, dilute in warm water, moisten a piece of clean cloth and gently apply to the place of impact.
Vodka compresses will also help well, which will warm up the injury site and speed up the healing process.
Treatment of bruises with home remedies
If the bruise is annoying, mainly with pain and unpleasant sensations, then the bruises are distressing with their absolutely unaesthetic appearance. They may appear due to injuries, injections, and skin features. In the first hours, the bruise turns red, the next day it turns blue-purple, then green, and finally yellow. The healing time depends on the location of the injury and its severity. If you immediately take the necessary measures, the hematoma will be less noticeable and disappear much faster.
In the first minutes after impact, apply cold. This will stop the blood from spreading through the tissues – therefore, it will not allow the bruise to spread further. Apply every 10-15 minutes for an hour. But it is not recommended to warm the place of injury.
A day later, the bruise is formed completely. But if you were not able to carry out the necessary procedures in time, do not worry – you can still fix it. Now, instead of cold, you will need heat.
Take a warm bath with sea salt dissolved in water. This will speed up the resorption of hematomas on the body.
Grate a few onions on a small grater. Carefully apply the gruel to the place of injury, covering it with a clean cloth.
Rub the soap and the yolk of a boiled egg with warm water. Apply the mixture to the bandage and leave for half an hour.
Pour boiling water over the Arnica leaves in a ratio of 1:1. The infusion can be used for compresses and lotions. A mother-and-stepmother is also suitable.
A good helping of essential oils. To quickly get rid of hematomas, attach a cotton swab dipped in lilac or rosemary oil.
Make a compress of boiled beans. White is best. You need to make a paste and apply it to the bruised area at night.
Garlic is not only an excellent antiseptic. Crush 1-2 cloves and smear the bruise. There may be unpleasant sensations, but the bruise will quickly disappear. You can also use a mixture of horseradish and radish, but do not use it against blows on the face.
To speed up the disappearance of the bruise, wipe it several times a day with the inside of a banana peel or a piece of pineapple.
Add a little honey to the juice of fresh beets and mix thoroughly. Use the mixture several times a day until the hematoma begins to disappear.
Another very popular recipe is potato starch diluted with water. The gruel will well lighten the place of impact.
Of course, it will not be superfluous to look at the pharmacy. Choose tools on the basis of a chestnut, warming ointments, for example, heparin. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of calendula tincture.
If, after all the procedures, the bruise does not think to disappear, you should sound the alarm. See a doctor if:
- The hematoma becomes painful;
- Increased and became solid;
- High temperature is maintained;
- Does not pass more than 2 weeks.
Only a specialist will be able to notice the complications in time and provide qualified assistance. Be healthy!
